Gum Gum Everywhere!

It's time for another BLOG challenge!!  If you bring in the correct answer to Ms. Hulst or myself you will earn a little prize!

I went to the candy store to purchase some gum.  I had only $5.00 on me.  Large pieces of gum were .42 cents.  Medium pieces of gum were .28 cents.  Small pieces of gum were .13 cents.  Does Ms. Pierce have enough money to purchase 5 pieces of EACH size gum? (5 Large, 5 Medium, and 5 Small)  If so, how much would her total cost be?

New Start.

Good Morning Students and Parents!!

I have really enjoyed spending time in the classroom the past few days and can't wait to get started in the classroom after Thanksgiving! 

Just a few fun facts about me;

1.  I was born in Georgia and moved to Michigan 11 years ago and STILL have not acclimated to the cold weather.
2.  I went to Western Michigan University--GO BRONCOS!
3.  I have two dogs at home; a Rottweiler puppy named Lucy and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua named Maxxie.
4.  I recently joined a bowling league and scored a Turkey on my first night!
5.  I absolutely love to cook...maybe in the future I can bring in some yummy treats for the class.

Welcome Back!

Healthy AM Snacks

The kids will have a short break in the morning when they may have a small snack at their desk as we work.  Ideal morning snacks include: granola bars, cheese/crackers, graham crackers, fruit, veggies, fruit snacks, fruit bars, animal crackers, goldfish crackers, and water.  We ask that you avoid sending soda, power drinks, chips, popcorn, and chocolates in for morning snack.  Thanks!

Welcome back 5th graders.  It's hard to believe summer is drawing to a close, but our first day is already a week from tomorrow.  This week we have two events- tonight is the NEW FAMILY information night at 6 pm and on Wednesday evening is the ICE CREAM social for everyone at 6 pm!  Please stop in the room and introduce yourself.  You'll also have the opportunity to arrange your new school materials in your desk.  There will be volunteer parent sign-up sheets as well.
